Haynes discusses the end of the Allmans, jamming with the members of the Grateful Dead and his new solo album, “Ashes and Dust.”
Haynes first joined the band 25 years ago; Trucks has been a member for 15 years.
Instead of doing an album of duets, on “Shout!,” Gov’t Mule took a novel approach, removing Warren Haynes’ vocals from the record and replacing them with an all-star cast of singers like Dr. John, Jim James of My Morning Jacket, Dave Matthews, Steve Winwood and Elvis Costello.
