Just hours before Soundgarden drops their new new album, the Seattle foursome will take the stage to treat online viewers worldwide to a webcast featuring fan favorites as well as tracks from King Animal.
Soundgarden continues to tease fans with tracks from their upcoming new album, the band’s first in 16 years. This fiery new track sounds like one big mosh-pit just waiting to happen.
Soundgarden’s comeback album, “King Animal,” is said to have “a lot of layers to it. It’s something that will take time for people to kind of digest,” says frontman Chris Cornell in a recent interview with San Francisco sister station, Live 105.
Nile Rodgers is a well-liked guy. As the leader of Chic, he’s responsible for some of the biggest hit singles ever, including “Le Freak” and “Good Times.” And as a producer, he’s helmed records by Madonna, David Bowie, David Lee Roth and Mick Jagger. So, it’s no surprise that he has a lot of famous friends, many of whom sent him video or voicemail messages to celebrate his 60th birthday.
It was 1996 when Soundgarden last released a studio album. Now in 2012, Chris Cornell and the gang are ready to rock you with 13 new songs on their upcoming full-length release, “King Animal.”
We take a close look at which rock artists are siding with President Obama, and who’s pulling for Mitt Romney. If it were up to bands, Obama would win in a landslide. Take a peek and see which way your favorites lean politically.
Chris Cornell has shuffled his weekend schedule around a bit. Yesterday he announced that he would be “opening” for Barack Obama, along with indie rock band The National, this Saturday at one of the President’s campaign stops in Des Moines, Iowa. Later in the day, he posted a message on his saying that he had to cancel his appearance at Jay-Z’s Made In America Festival this Sunday due to “scheduling conflicts.”
Soundgarden’s reunion has been going on for a while: after frontman Chris Cornell tweeted “School’s back in session” on January 1, 2010, the band headlined that summer’s Lollapalooza. In 2011, they toured, and earlier this year, they released a brand new song, “Live To Rise” from the soundtrack to “The Avengers.”
