Early this morning (December 17), the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced their 2014 inductees, which included Nirvana, KISS, Peter Gabriel, Cat Stevens and Hall and Oates. Needless to say, those who made it in were excited to receive the honor and more than happy to share that excitement with their fans.
The induction ceremony will take place at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on April 10 and will be open to the public. An on-sale date has yet to be announced.
He explained that he played “Crazy Love” for his wife (who was sitting in the front row with their children) at their engagement party, and then thanked his mother-in-law — who was hanging out at side stage — for allowing him to marry her daughter. Later on in the show, he covered another mellow classic from the same year, Cat Stevens’ “Trouble” — another far cry from the harder songs Cornell used to cover and name-check.
