As I drove in this morning, the stadium is still lit up in neon green – just like our Seahawks last night, who destroyed the LA Rams. Richard Sherman looked pretty happy last night except for this – in the third quarter – the team faced a first-and-goal from the Rams’ 1-yard line and opted to throw the ball to Jimmy Graham in the end zone.
Russell Wilson threw a trio of touchdown passes as the Seahawks thumped the Rams, 24-3, at CenturyLink Field on “Thursday Night Football.” Tyler Lockett hauled in seven receptions for a career-high 130 yards and a score. Doug Baldwin and Luke Willson also caught touchdown passes. Seattle improved to 9-4-and-1 with the win and clinched the NFC West Division. The Arizona Cardinals are up next. They visit CenturyLink Field on Christmas Eve.
Punter Jon Ryan faked the punt and ran through a huge hole but he started bobbling the ball, and got nailed by Rams cornerback Troy Hill before he could regain control. Fortunately for the Seahawks, they recovered the fumble.
Pete Carroll, in a press conference said they didn’t practice that play enough. DUH. Video here.
