11.3 On Jack: World Series Cubbies And Bill And Eddie, Trolls Hate On New Starbucks Cup, And Russell On Getting Hit

The curse is over. After a 108 year drought The Cubs beat the Indians in 10 innings, 8-7, in an epic Game Seven of the World Series last night in Cleveland.

3rd baseman Kris Bryant was nearly giggling as he fielded and threw for the final out.

Good old Bill Murray got to hang with the team in the locker room:

And,  Eddie Vedder’s 2008 tribute to the Cubbies finally came true:

Great print interview with Russell Wilson yesterday. He was asked about the World Series: I’ve always loved the Cubs, but I think the Cleveland Indians are going to win.

Also from Russell: I think, first of all, you gotta play the quarterback position in a smart way. Obviously, if we didn’t want to get hit, we’d be playing a different sport. That’s just the truth. If I didn’t want to get hit, I’d be playing tennis.  Read the whole interview here.

The Seattle Sounders have made former assistant coach Brian Schmetzer their official head coach. When Sigi was canned, the Sounders were 9th in their conference and about to miss the playoffs, but under Schmetzer’s guidance, they’re off to Dallas this Sunday for the Conference semifinals.

Starbucks is now serving coffee in green cups with the faces of more than a hundred people, drawn with a single continuous line – it’s about unity! BUT nasty internet trolls are upset! They want their traditional red cup.

But other tweeters have posted an opened box of RED CUPS – marked as DON’T PEEK – and those should be out on in a week…
