The Seattle Seahawks confirmed Thursday that running back/Skittles aficionado Marshawn Lynch will return to training camp, ending his 8-day holdout.
Lynch was reportedly holding out for a bigger contract (he has two years left on his current $30 million contract). Apparently, he didn’t get a new deal — but on the plus side, he might have fines associated with his absence erased.
Pete Carroll played things coy at first, telling reporters he “did not know” whether the running back was returning (stop your teasing, Uncle Pete). But, the team confirmed the news Thursday afternoon.
Lynch will get back to work when the ‘Hawks hit the VMAC field Friday.
There’s your pre-weekend good news — you can now celebrate Seafair weekend in peace.
