The Seattle Sounders had a horrific time with the LA Galaxy last night as Los Angeles put 3 in the back of the next within the first 35 minutes. (Final score 3-0 Galaxy). Century Link Field was like a giant vacuum cleaner, sucking the life out of the hometown crowd. A far cry from the excitement of the World Cup Games that starred the US Men’s National team.
From that National team, DeAndre Yedlin and Clint Dempsey of the Sounders and their former buddy Omar Gonzalez, were now adversaries. It was just a month ago that the 3 fought on the same battlefield, together, against the likes of Germany and Belgium. All of that comaraderie was forgotten when the LA Vs. Seattle match turned into a clinic on poor sportsmanship.
It started with our DeAndre getting shoved to the ground by Gonzalez:
Then Clint Dempsey came running over to see how Yedlin was, and that creepy Gonzalez laid into him, too.
I don’t care how heated it gets out there, there is no cause for such bad behavior. Especially when you’re up by 3! How about a little benevolence? Someone by the name of Omar Gonzalez has to check himself. Perhaps even check himself into anger management therapy.
