Seahawks’ Sidney Rice Is Retiring At 27

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver, Sidney Rice, announced his retirement from the National Football League on Wednesday.

Rice — who had previously been released from the ‘Hawks — resigned with the team on a one-year deal in April of this year.

However, it seems Rice was dealing with ongoing concussions, and elected to end his career before kicking of the 2014 season.

You can read more about his retirement here.

Rice’s (now former) teammates and coaches were quick to offer their support:

Rice let Carroll know he was happy to be the newest member of 12th man fandom!
