Watch Fall Out Boy’s Solid Cover of Queen’s ‘We Are The Champions’

By Shannon Carlin

Fall Out Boy has been representing for the underdogs since 2001. And last night (June 23), Patrick Stump and the rest of the guys made it clear that the meek will inherit the earth with a cover of Queen’s “We Are The Champions.”

At a show in Mansfield, Massachusetts, the guys pulled out the anthem to help invigorate the crowd and yes, perhaps try to save rock and roll, just as their latest album proclaims. Sure, Stump isn’t exactly Freddie Mercury, but he manages to hit the notes as Joe Trohman find his inner-Brian May for an arena rock-worthy guitar solo. Yeah, it’s solid.
