We’ve all said things under duress that we might not have otherwise said, especially when your older brother is holding your head down to the shag carpet and digging his knee into your lower back and you finally blurt out, “Okay! Fine! Frankie Goes to Hollywood is better than The Rolling Stones, is that what you want to hear?” It’s a cruel way to pry information out of someone.

Which is what the Belgian arm of Amnesty International is trying to get across with their new ad campaign, which uses, among other cultural pillars, Iggy Pop.

In his photo, the Stooges frontman is shown bloody and bruised with the caption “L’avenir du rock ‘n’ roll c’est Justin Bieber’ which translates to, “The future of rock ‘n’ roll is Justin Bieber.”

Underneath the quote, it reads, “In addition to being inhumane, torture is ineffective. Let’s stop it.”

Other equally ridiculous ads on the campaign include the Dali Lama saying, “A man who does not have a Rolex watch at 50 years old has failed in his life,” and fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld saying, “The summit of elegance, this is the Hawaiian shirt and flip-flops.”
