“Greentivities,” on 965 Jack FM, are about doing good for planet Earth.
It’s time to dig some holes and stick some bushes in them! When you go to the nursery have them turn you on to our area’s native plants. They’re adapted to our soil, so they don’t need chemical pesticides and fertilizers, which have proven hazardous to the health of our fish in area waters, and us.
My favorite ground cover is Kinnickinnick, and once established, takes very little water. The Washington Native Plant Society’s website is a cool place to explore all the choices before you head to your local nursery. -Lee Callahan, Jack Seattle
