Eddie Vedder has been a busy man, releasing Pearl Jam‘s newest album, Lightning Bolt, last October. He’s also been embarking on some lucrative solo gigs, including a 32-song set in Sao Paolo, Brazil, earlier this week.
During that show, which featured Neil Young and Ramones covers in addition to a few duets with Glen Hansard, Consequence of Sound reports, Vedder debuted a brand new song — which, to add to its intrigue, has no name.
“I’ll play this song, then I’ll go learn it,” the frontman quips before breaking into the all-acoustic number, which fans are dubbing “I Won’t Hold On.”
Though the bumps in the road are obvious — it’s a new tune, after all — the song certainly shows promise as a tender ballad, featuring expressive Vedder vocals posed against simple, steady acoustic guitar.
