Applicants interested in starting a marijuana retail business found out Friday whether they won the Washington State Liquor Control Board’s lottery.
More than 3,700 applications were submitted and of those, 1,200 were selected for the lottery. But the process doesn’t end there. Not all of the lottery winners will actually be able to set up shop. The winners will now go through another screening process, which will include criminal background checks and financial investigations.
