That headline may sound like the start, or punchline of a joke. But it’s not. This is a true story.

Police in Oklahoma were astonished to find two dogs behind the wheel of a runaway truck, according to Fox 23. Roscoe and Luna apparently thought a joyride sounded like fun and hopped in their owner Scott’s truck. They had the perfect opportunity when Scott ran inside his house. He swears he was only gone for about 15 minutes, but that was enough time for the dogs to shift out of park and start rolling away.

The Bonnie and Clyde getaway lasted for about three blocks. Despite having only about 45 seconds of driving experienced, the dogs managed to miss hitting joggers on a trail, other cars on the road and avoided driving into the actual river. They crashed into the riverbed instead. No one was hurt… except the truck.

The police decided to let Roscoe and Luna off.
