Bruce Springsteen Covers “Highway To Hell”
Bruce Springsteen has just announced a string of arena and stadium tour dates for the US this Spring. These dates come at the heels of his shows in South Africa (his first ever), Australia and New Zealand. Tickets for many of these shows go on sale this Friday, February 14. For more information, you can check out Springsteen’s website.
Fans in Australia got a rare treat this past weekend as Springsteen and the E Street Band kicked off their 28-song set on Saturday (Feb. 8) at Perth Arena with AC/DC‘s “Highway to Hell” for the very first time in concert. The last of three nights in Perth, Springsteen walked onto the stage, asking the crowd, “Ready for Round 3?” As chants of “Bruce!” engulfed the Perth Arena, and a very familiar guitar lick was heard, the crowd went wild. An ode to late AC/DC singer Bon Scott, who grew up near Perth, “Highway to Hell” was also the title track to the last album he recorded before his death in 1980.
