You Know It’s Cold When An Escape Inmate Turns Himself In
So we got this polar vortex thing that is freezing everybody up. Everyone out here on the west coast probably can’t imagine how cold it actually is. Twenty degrees below zero is some cold action, lemmie tell ya, but numbers and images of people bundled up can only describe so much.
That’s where Robert Vick comes in.
Apparently it is so friggin’ cold in Kentucky that Vick, an escaped prisoner, essentially said “screw it, I’m going back to the slammer.”
Police say Vick, 42, escaped from a minimum security facility in Lexington, kentucky on Sunday. And, as temperatures plummeted into the low single digits on Monday, Vick reportedly walked into a motel and asked the clerk to call police.
Vick would have been dressed in prison-issued khaki pants, a shirt and a jacket when he escaped, Department of Corrections spokeswoman Lisa Lamb said. Wind chill readings were 20 below zero Monday in Lexington. The dude was treated for hypothermia.
Vick was in the midst of a six-year prison sentence for burglary and other charges at the time of his escape….and you can bet on some more time behind bars.
