Morrissey fans around the world have rushed to get their hot little hands on copies of the singer’s recently published Autobiography, with the demand so high that it received an American pressing (albeit with all references to his gay relationship with photographer Jake Owen edited out of it) after initially being a European-only release.

Getting a signed copy of the book, however, has been a much tougher task. Fans in Sweden were treated to Europe’s only Autobiography book signing event, with over 500 fans from around the world lining up (some for more than 30 hours) for the author to pen his signature in a copy.

After a rumored New York book signing turned up to be indeed just a rumor, Morrissey has now signed a single copy of Autobiography to be auctioned off on ebay, with all of the proceeds going directly to the animal rights organization, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).
