Seal it up and get caulking around the house. Simple leaks can sap your home energy efficiency by 5% to 30% a year. That means it pays to seal up gaps with caulking and weatherstripping. Now that’s what we call a fun weekend project, man!

If heat is leaking out of your house, and energy is being wasted, then that’s taxing our power plants, which are primarily fueled by pollution-causing coal.

I found this very cool website with easy to follow instructions on weatherstripping and caulking- has to be, for me to get anything done – click right here.

I also had a new door installed in the basement – the last one leaked air like my blow-hard mother-in-law!
