Chances are when you hear the word gravity this week, you’ll probably think it’s in reference to Sandra Bullock’s new drama that just opened this past weekend. But if you’re 11-year-old Michal Bodzianowski from Colorado, gravity brings only one word to mind: how does gravity affect brewing beer in space?
Okay, that’s more than one word. But let’s not focus on that and instead appreciate the genius of his idea. Brewing beer in space. That’s like a game changer. Think of how many people would be willing to go to space knowing that after they enter orbit, they can put their feet up (or wherever their feet would do in microgravity), relax, and crack open a freshly brewed cold one?
Michal knew he was on to something. He fashioned together a science experiment and submitted it into the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program, a program developed to help kids become interested in high tech, scientific careers.
