Darn, those police cruisers are always in the wrong place at the wrong time, aren’t they? A guy was just driving around his small town in Louisiana, minding his own business, shooting heroin while trying to steer his car. (Sorry, correction: “allegedly” shooting heroin.) That’s when a police SUV totally came out of nowhere and impeded his progress. And by “came out of nowhere,” we mean the police SUV was parked on the side of the road and the junkie swerved.
According to WWL TV, the car was going about 40 miles an hour when it slammed into the police cruise and pushed it several feet. Police found a syringe with what they guessed to be heroin and fresh injection marks on the driver’s arms.
The detective made a very astute observation to WWL TV, “It is speculated that Ronald Ceplina was distracted due to the fact that he was injecting heroin at the time of the crash.” Yep, that all makes sense.
He might have been better off just texting and driving. That’s only a misdemeanor. He’s facing felony drug charges instead.
