Here’s a List of David Bowie’s 100 Favorite Books

For all David Bowie fans, the traveling exhibit “David Bowie is” proves itself as a must-see for all music, art and pop-culture pieces related to Bowie and Ziggy Stardust. The homage — displaying diary entries instruments, costumes, and more —  is currently on display at the Art Gallery of Ontario. Curators Geoffrey Marsh and Victoria Broackes, however, have unveiled a piece of the gallery that anyone can experience anywhere: Bowie’s list of his 100 favorite books.

Marsh explained to OpenBookToronto that Bowie is a “voracious” reader that goes through his reads as fast as “a book a day.” With such a large appetite for literature, this is a list you can definitely trust. Titles in Bowie’s guide to literature range from the classics, such as Nabokov’s Lolita and Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four, to modern-day masterpieces like Junot Diaz’s The Brief WondrousLife of Oscar Wao. Check out the full list below

David Bowie Is has a confirmed US stop at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago in September 2014.
