Many of us might think it’d be pretty cool to get a strain of pot named after us, right? Well, not so for the Manning brothers, of NFL fame.
According to CBS Denver, a few medical marijuana dispensaries in the Denver metro area are selling strains named after the Broncos quarterback. His brother Eli also has a strain named after him. The problem is, neither one is getting royalties. CBS Denver reports that a representative for Peyton is threatening legal action, saying the dispensaries don’t have permission to use his name for commercial purposes.
The Peyton pot is described as “good for pain, anxiety, nausea and headaches.” The strain named for Eli claims to help with “multiple sclerosis, glaucoma and arthritis.” The Good Meds website, which sells the Manning strains, also gives a 10 percent discount to customers sporting a Broncos jersey on game day. Good Meds also told CBS Denver it was not planning to stop selling the Manning strains.
Hey Peyton, JACK says, take it as a compliment, man! Imitation is the highest form of flattery, after all.
