Over and over again, broadcasters have marveled at the decibels delivered by fans in the Clink during a Hawks game. Quarterbacks and coaches of opposing teams in our arena have cursed Seattle’s ’12th Man.’ We’ve always known we’re the loudest football fans in the country, and now we’re going to prove it.
On September 15th, just a few months away- when the Seahawks take on San Francisco at Century Link Field, the folks from The Guinness Book of World Records will be there to see if we can break the record of 131.76 decibels, held by the fanatics at the Ali Sami Yen Sport Complex Turk Telekom Arena on March 18, 2011, in Istanbul, Turkey, at a soccer game.
The Seahawks‘ official website documents the highest decibel level at CenturyLink at 112. However, the 60,000-seat stadium holds 7,000 more fans than the current record holder.
Can we break the Guinness World Record for “loudest crowd roar at a sports stadium?” Uber fans with the group Volume 12, KNOW we can.
