A pig farmer right here in Washington says the secret to better bacon may be marijuana. No, he doesn’t blow smoke in their faces, but feeds them all the stuff a real stoner would never inhale.

Seattle’s BB Ranch founder William Von Scheneidau tells Reuters that he’s started using the leftover stems, stalks, and leaves from the state’s now-legal dispensaries to feed his animals.

Von Scheneidau — who does not partake in the demon weed himself –says the secret to a nice fat pig is much like what happens to a human imbiber:  pigs that eat the weed usually just lie around, ultimately gaining weight 20-percent faster than those that don’t.  Sounds vaguely familiar, eh, human smokers?

Those extra pounds lead to pork with a marbled and fattier texture – giving true bacon conisseurs what they love the most – grease!

Von Scheneidau says his special pork is in high demand and sells out fast.  He adds that no one has reported getting high after eating his pig products.
