JACK’s tip of the day: Listen to your flight attendants and put away those damn cell phones… or else! A group of students in New York City learned this lesson the hard way this week because they apparently thought the “turn off and stow all electronics” speech was meant for everyone else on the plane.
CBS Atlanta says the group of high school seniors was told several times to turn off their phones. A few rebels in the group just couldn’t unplug, so all 100 of them were told the get off the plane. The commotion caused the flight to be delayed 45 minutes. Way to go, guys.
Naturally, the students and chaperones think the airline (AirTran) overreacted. Shocking. The school is now investigating the incident and administrators say they don’t believe the flight crew was “justified” in booting the kids. Ya, sure, because it is really hard to imagine teenagers disobeying the rules and giving adults attitude.
