Every year, a majestic aluminum warbird makes its way back to the Northwest to take us up and away into history. I’ve been aboard and loved it, walking around the plane mid-flight over Seattle and sitting up in the gun-turret with nothing below your seat but glass.
I got on the phone with Rick Fernalld, a long-time B-17 pilot in the program. We talked about the history of this plane in particular and what the B-17s did during the war.
