I, personally, have been very successful when using Craigslist. I just picked up a bunch of mulch from someone’s back yard without getting accosted. No one hurt me when I met a guy in front of a Target store to buy his used cell-phone. People have come to my house to pick up old kitchen stools without setting my house on fire. And no harm came to me when I stood in the alley behind my house when I sold two old bikes to a dude.

But we’ve heard the stories of murder, (sadly locally, too), and mayhem, (locally a house was wrongly listed as empty and folks were invited to come in and take what they wanted). But this particular story of abuse goes too far.

A woman from Texas tried to give away her 3-year old on the want-ad site. She says she wasn’t actually going to give him away, but she’s still been charged.
