Coming this weekend to a theater near you, the highly anticipated sequel to the 21st century film version of Star Trek, “Star Trek Into The Darkness” - starring Chris Pine as Captain Kirk, Simon Pegg (“Shawn of the Dead”) as Scotty, Zoe Saldana as Uhura, Zachary (“Heroes”) Quinto as Spock, Anton (“Charlie Bartlett”) Yelchin as Chekov, and Karl Urban as Dr. Bones McCoy.
The official film description from Paramount Pictures reads:
“After the crew of the Enterprise find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.”
Awesome. Let’s just hope Spock doesn’t time travel this time. This reporter has not yet recovered from that craziness. The unstoppable force, we’ve been told, is a genetically-enhanced superhuman who’s bent on taking over Earth. Kirk suffers a crisis in faith as he leads his crew into an uncertain future.
