New Order Talks About Plan To Release Series Of EPs

New Order frontman Bernard Sumner says he and his bandmates are ready to try something different. He tells “Billboard” that the band has become known for disappearing “from the face of the earth” for a while and then suddenly popping up again with a new album. But after their 2011 reunion, Sumner says they want to keep their presence a little more consistent. He explains that they’ll only take a couple of months off in between live outings to focus on a few tracks at a time rather than hiding away for a couple of years to make a full album. Sumner says the plan is still a work in progress, but right now they’re thinking about releasing a series of EPs and then eventually putting them all together to make an album.

In the meantime, Sumner and company are busy with a short trek through southern California. They played Coachella this past weekend in Indio, and are scheduled to take the stage in Santa Barbara on Thursday before returning to Coachella this Saturday.
