A Salisbury, North Carolina man is in trouble with the law because of his cologne. North Carolina’s WBTV reports that when Dustin Stirewalt pulled up to a traffic checkpoint over the weekend, Officer J.R. Cable smelled a “strong odor of freshly sprayed cologne.” Officer Cable proceeded to search the car and discovered that Stirewalt had stashed marijuana and pills in the vehicle. He was arrested and booked on three counts of drugs possession. Police later released Stirewalt after he posted a five-thousand dollar bond.

GIRL SCOUT COOKIES-THEFT

One Utah mayor is sweet on Girl Scout cookies. Taylorsville Mayor Jerry Rechtenbach is inviting the scouts to sell cookies at city hall this coming Saturday. Last weekend, the girls of Troop 2532 were selling cookies outside of a Wal-Mart. A man grabbed their cashbox and took off running. The mayor says the crime is “deplorable.” Mayor Rechtenbach adds the city hall cookie sale will be a great way for the community to show support for the Girl Scouts.

UNLUCKY NUMBER

Thirteen turns out to be an unlucky number for one hotel maid. Police charge Adria Maceross with stealing 13 pain-killer pills from Room 13 at the Willows Inn in western Pennsylvania motel. Police say the owners of the hotel became suspicious after guests complained about money and prescription drugs that went missing. So, officers installed a camera hidden in an alarm clock. Police tell the Beaver County Times Maceross was caught on camera taking a pill bottle. Investigators add she later confessed.

BURGLAR’S CONSCIENCE

A crook is now sorry, three decades after the crime. Authorities say someone has sent $1,200 to the Barry County, Michigan, sheriff’s department. A note with the money says it’s to repay 800 bucks stolen from a Middle Mart store in western Michigan about 30 years ago. The thief writes he or she has lived “with this guilt too long.” – Actually, this guy is kind of cool.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — No jail for Lindsay Lohan, but she will be locked in rehab for 90 days. It’s part of a plea deal. She also has to do 30 days of community labor and see a shrink for 18 months. Lohan pleaded no contest to lying to police after she crashed her Porsche last June. The judge warned her that this is the last time she’ll be able to avoid jail. He says “this is it.” If she violates probation, the judge says he’ll send her to jail and “be done with it.” He also left her with this advice: “Don’t drive.” Lohan was nearly an hour late to court. When she arrived, someone showered her with glitter.

Sizemore also writes about his use of cocaine, heroin and meth and going to jail. Sizemore says he first snorted coke with Robert Downey Junior and within two weeks he was using it every day. The trustee overseeing Casey Anthony’s bankruptcy case has filed a motion to sell the rights to her story so she can pay her debts. In a motion filed Monday in federal court in Tampa, trustee Stephen Meininger asked Judge K. Rodney May for permission to sell the “exclusive worldwide rights” of Anthony’s life story. Anthony, who is now 26, was acquitted of murder in the death her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee. Anthony has never told her side of the story, despite intense media scrutiny of the case. During a meeting with creditors in her bankruptcy case in Tampa on March 4, Anthony said she was unemployed and hasn’t received any money to tell her story.
