The Angry Birds are taking their adventures with their pig rivals to the small screen this weekend.

Rovio, the company behind the popular “Angry Birds” mobile app game, is launching a cartoon series based on the bird characters that appear in its games. Starting Saturday, “Angry Birds Toons” will be available for download through on-demand services and Samsung Smart TVs. It will also air on television channels in France, Germany, Korea, Australia, India and Israel. The series will feature 52 episodes with a new one launched each week. Rovio says “Angry Birds Toons” will finally give fans the chance to learn the story of the Angry Birds and the Bad Piggies and introduce their personalities and world in detail.

Rovio announced in December that it’s also planning a 3D animated film revolving around the “Angry Birds” characters. The film is reportedly on track for a 2016 release. The company says its “Angry Birds” has logged more than one-point-seven billion downloads.
