Van Halen’s Wolfgang Van Halen says another album isn’t out of the question. Frontman David Lee Roth recently admitted that the group’s 2012 release, “A Different Kind of Truth,” featured songs that actually pre-dated the band’s debut album, and Wolfgang tells Billboard.com they haven’t depleted their archives. He explains that the group has “plenty of other ideas laying around” — not all of which are 40 years old. Wolfgang says they also have “some new stuff” that they’ve been working on, and adds that “you never know what’ll happen.” He also says he’s proud of “A Different Kind of Truth,” as well as his contributions to the disc. Van Halen recalls that he dug up those older demos that helped put Roth, Alex Van Halen, and his dad Eddie Van Halen “into the mindspace” they had when they wrote such classics as “Runnin’ With The Devil” and “Dance the Night Away.”

But even if Van Halen doesn’t come together to make a new record, the band will be performing this year. The group will play a festival date in Australia next month and go on their rescheduled Japanese tour in June. In addition, they’re on board to headline the Rock USA festival in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on July 20th. And Wolfie should have more opportunities to work in the studio, since he’s officially become a full-time member of Mark Tremonti’s band as well.
