Ed Koch, Passes Away At 88 (Lee Callahan 2008 Interview)
We lost Ed Koch over the weekend, due to congestive heart failure at the age of 88. He was an American lawyer, politician, political commentator, movie critic and reality television arbitrator. He served in the United States House of Representatives from 1969 to 1977, but is best known for his three terms as mayor of New York City, which he led from fiscal insolvency to economic boom from 1978 to 1989. Koch was a lifelong Democrat who described himself as a “liberal with sanity.”
CBS Seattle’s Lee Callahan spoke with Mr. Koch back in 2008 about his book at that time, The Koch Papers: My Fight Against Anti-Semitism.
Hear the candid talk here. He also had nothing good to say about Elliott Spitzer – the disgraced former governor of New York.
