Patrick Dempsey, who stars in a TV medical drama set in a fictional Seattle hospital, says his investment group has won a bid to purchase Seattle-based coffee chain Tully’s.  The winning bid was nine-point-15-million dollars for the entire chain, which employs about 500 people.  Dempsey, in sending a message about his victory via Twitter, Dempsey said he won the bidding war over the “Green Monster,” referring to Starbucks. A topless barista coffee chain also lost out. A bankruptcy court judge will decide later this month whether to approve the acquisition.
