Tenacious D have already written the best song in the world, or at least a Tribute. Now they’re set to return with “the greatest album ever recorded by anyone. Ever.“  Jack Black and Kyle Gass have even provided a spoof video chronicling the band’s last few years featuring actor Val Kilmer, Foo Fighter Dave Grohl and a few other cameo appearances.

Billboard.com sums up the new video saying, “Filled with their signature hyperbolic humor and laden with witty self-deprecation, To Be The Best begins with a light-hearted mock episode of  Extra exposing the fates of the ‘fallen’ popular group.” So it’s not ruined, we won’t post the whole plot, but Tenacious D emerge triumphant with “the greatest album ever recorded by anyone. Ever.”

Tenacious D’s third album Rize of the Fenix  is due out in May. The duo is also included on the newly announced lineup for the Sasquatch! Music Festival at the Gorge Amphitheatre from May 25th-28th. Until then enjoy these Tenacious D moments:
