Former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr has enlisted some high-powered musical help for his new album including Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Dave Stewart, Joe Walsh, Don Was and Edgar Winter. Ringo has put together some great all-star bands over the years, but there’s no word if the latest version will tour with Ringo.
Antimusic reports the new album titled simply Ringo 2012 will be released in America on January 31st, and the rest of the world the previous day. The new 9-track album was recorded in LA and mixed in England by Ringo and Bruce Sugar. The following musicians performed in the studio for Ringo 2012 (in alphabetical order): Michael Bradford, Ann Marie Calhoun, Matt Cartsonis, Steve Dudas, Charlie Haden, Amy Keys, Kelly Moneymaker, Richard Page, Van Dyke Parks, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Dave Stewart, Bruce Sugar, Benmont Tench, Joe Walsh , Don Was, and Edgar Winter.
That would be some band with Was, Winter, Walsh & Shepherd, but we’ll have to wait and see who Ringo can bring on the road, assuming he tours in support of Ringo 2012. Take a look at his 2010 touring band:
