17. Gabriel helped pioneer a new realm of musical interaction in 2001, when he visited Georgia State University’s Language Research Center. There he participated in a keyboard jam session with apes from the Congo. He continued his interest in the intelligence of primates and created ApeNet, a project that aimed to link great apes through the internet, which enabled the first interspecies internet communication.
