Joe Walsh 2012 Plans Include Solo Album, Tour, Eagles 40th Anniversary, And The James Gang
Guitarist Joe Walsh has a full plate for 2012 with plans for a new solo album, a tour, The Eagles 40th Anniversary celebration, and some work with The James Gang. Classic Rock Magazine reveals Joe’s new solo album was produced by Jeff Lynne, of Electric Light Orchestra and Traveling Wilburys fame. It’s Walsh’s first foray into digital recording, so he’s calling it Analog Man. It’s due out in February, but Walsh is already touring in support of the album. Details are available at his website JoeWalsh.com.
As for Walsh and The Eagles, they will be going on tour doing a retrospective show for the Eagle’s upcoming 40th Anniversary in 2012 and might include some of their more obscure album tracks.
Asked about possible future work with The James Gang, Joe told Ultimate Classic Rock in an interview, “When we played those shows a few years back, we just wanted to reconnect and see how we did, and see if we can still do it. It takes everything you’ve got to be in a three-piece band. You have a good night and there’s nothing like it. You have a bad night and it’s pretty ugly. We can do it, we can still do it. We got a couple of gigs under our belt and we were rocking. I think we absolutely should do a tour and maybe record some new stuff. We’ll have a look at that next year also.” So 2012 is looking like a big year indeed for the Life’s Been Good guitar prodigy.
