Aberdeen’s Bridge Won’t Be Named After Kurt Cobain

The resolution to rename a bridge after Nirvana front man Kurt Cobain was rejected by City Councial in Aberdeen,WA.

Reports from KING5.com said eight citizens and several council members spoke against renaming the bridge, which is unofficially named after pioneer Alexander Young. Audience at Wednesday’s council meeting also voted against it out of concern of Cobain’s drug use, suicide and negative comments about his hometown.

However, the council did once vote to name a small body of land “Cobain Landing” on the Wishkah River.
