The Snoqualmie Tribe is having to do a little bit of damage control after word got out of a resolution legalizing pot for one day (July 30, the day Willie Nelson performs at the Snoqualmie Casino).
How fun is this? In a recent tribe council meeting, as a “tongue-in-cheek” sort of thing, the council passes a bill legalizing marijuana.
But wait, you can’t do that! Can you?
“We know marijuana is illegal,” [Shelley] Burch said. “It was a joke. We don’t allow it and we don’t back it. We passed it, but it was supposed to be just for [Willie Nelson].
Yeah right, Shelley! A gift for Nelson?! A gag?! You expect anyone to believe that?!
We like to chill out and have a good time as much as the next radio station that plays what they want, but the law is no joke! We mean, it is a joke sometimes, but if this was meant to be a “gag,” or a goof, then why was there no sort of amendment in the bill stating its illegitimacy? Are they crazy? Is this for real?
What are we even talking about, here? No, seriously, we forgot.
