Seattle Boeing Crew Has Lunch … in Pittsburgh?!
See, this is kind of thing we like to do. We have fun, even if it means misusing work resources.
According to this article, a Seattle-based flight crew were testing a new 747 when they decided to swoop to Pittsburgh for famous Primanti Bros. sandwiches.
“Everybody loved it. They were all like, ‘Who would have thought to put fries and cole slaw on a sandwich?’ ” [Boeing Co. flight test director Paul]
Shank said. “It was comfort food for me, something that reminded me of home.”
People in the comments section of that article and another linked article are griping about fuel mileage, and since internet commenters are the worst people on Earth and too stupid to do any research of their own, I went ahead and found out that the fuel mileage on a 747 is more efficient than a luxury sedan cruising on a highway.
So, if anything, we should be griping about how pilots still have cooler jobs than we do.
(P.S. We would like someone to bring us some of these Primanti sandwiches, so the next crew heading out there … think of JACK.)
