Think back to 1981. A little hazy huh? Well, back then a couple of hit songs from [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Rick Springfield[/lastfm] took him from a heartthrob as Dr. Noah Drake on TV’s General Hospital, to a bona-fide hit maker. One of those songs was actually written and recorded by [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Sammy Hagar[/lastfm], do you remember which song it was?
In 1981 Rick released Working Class Dog which contained the first hit, Jessie’s Girl. The follow up was a little diddy named I’ve Done Everything For You, which also became a huge top 10 hit. Just on year earlier Sammy Hagar released it and it not only flopped, it flopped about as hard as it gets. Sammy was sure the song was a hit, and his record company didn’t believe it was so they dropped it cold.
Then Rick picked it up and whammo, huge hit.
So why is this interesting? Because Rick is bringing his game to the Little Creek Casino on Friday February 25th.
Along with making Sammy Hagar all kinds of royalty cash, Rick also has a book out titled Late, Late At Night, has appeared on all kinds of TV shows and movies, and really puts on a kick ass show.
In case you don’t remember I’ve Done Everything For You from way back when, here it is for you to reminisce.
