In the past, Northwest rockers have won a total of 4 Grammys. [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Soundgarden[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Nirvana[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Alice in Chains [/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Pearl Jam[/lastfm] have all been nominated, and this Sunday most of those groups are back in the running this Sunday night at 8 on CBS.
The Best Hard Rock Performance category has [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Alice in Chains[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Soundgarden[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Them Crooked Vultures[/lastfm] featuring former [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Nirvana[/lastfm] drummer Dave Grohl competing for the award, plus [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Pearl Jam[/lastfm] is up for Best Rock Album.
So along with other sure things, like Lady Ga Ga wearing something noteworthy, the Northwest looks like it will bring home a Grammy.
What’s the reason that so many great Northwest bands are in the running? Maybe it’s the coffee. Warning – The video below contains language that is Not Safe For Work or Children.
