Last.fm Trends: Grammys Are Ready To Rock
Read on to see which guitar-wielding wizards are fighting to take home the award on February 13th.
Mexican veterans Los Lobos (1,672,071 total scrobbles) is one of the lucky nominees – being recognised for their track “Do The Murray” from their 2010 album Tin Can Trust. The low scrobble count of 2,401 should not be sniffed at, however, as Los Lobos are the proud owners of three previous Grammy Awards.
We looked at The Black Keys‘ (25,811,451 total scrobbles) Grammy story last week, tipping them to take home this very award. Their track “Black Mud” has 405,590 scrobbles so far and definitely looks to be a front-runner for the award.
The duo of Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds (3,443,008 total scrobbles) have been playing together since 1992 and have been rewarded for their efforts with this Grammy nomination. The acoustic guitar pairing are nominated for their track “Kundalini Bonfire” from their Live In Las Vegas album.
Dweezil Zappa, with 97,714 total scrobbles and 463 scrobbles of his nominated track “The Deathless Horsie”, looks to be an outsider for the award – despite being able to name drop legendary guitarist Frank Zappa as his father.
Lastly, veteran Jeff Beck (3,732,368 total scrobbles) is nominated in the category which he has won no less than five times before. Winning it last year for his track “A Day In The Life”, it is his track “Hammerhead” that represents him this time around.
