Last.fm Trends: The Strokes March On
Five years since their last studio album, are fans still loving their tracks? Today Last.fm Trends takes a look at their scrobbling history, to see where they can go from here.
The chart below shows what listeners at Last.fm have been playing the most over the last six months.
The last six months have seen a top ten dominated by Is This It‘s tracks, suggesting fans are most fond of the band’s classic sound.
But, it’s 2004’s “Reptilia” that takes the crown of most popular track overall, with 4,195,226 scrobbles from 649,656 listeners.
Tracks old and new have a solid weekly listener count, and we should see this ramp up as new-release hype brings fans back. With bassist Nikolai Fraiture suggesting that new tracks are pitched between their second and third efforts, it seems they’re sticking to a tried and tested formula.
