2010 is coming to an end, and it is the time for you to start dreaming of things to accomplish in 2011. One of the things is to go and find that dream job! I feel like back when I was a kid, if someone asked you for your dream job, you’d say “I want to be president of the United States!” But now as adults, we all kinda realize that job takes years off your life and just makes people hate you . . . so now we make a much smarter pick for a dream job.
According to a new poll by Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, the most popular dream job in the U.S. is movie star.
32% of American adults say that if they could have any job in the world, it would be a movie star. Professional athlete was second-most popular, at 29%.
Only 13% of people say their dream job is to be president. Strangely, that tied with rock star, which also got 13%.
(–To me, that’s a statement on just how far rock has fallen. In the ’70s, anyone would’ve picked that over movie star.)
Men were far more likely than women to dream of being a professional athlete, 40% versus only 18%. Women were more likely to want to be a movie star, 37% to 26%.
