They are Thorn, Buster Doe, Green Reaper, Gemini, No Name, Catastrophe, Thunder 88, Penelope and Phoenix Jones the Guardian of Seattle… These are Seattle’s caped crusaders… a group of self-described superheroes that have been patrolling the streets of Seattle to fight crime.

Their vehicle of choice? A Kia!

They call themselves the Rain City Superhero Movement and they’re part of a nationwide movement of real-life crime fighters called RLSH – Real Life Super Hero.

“A Real Life Superhero is whoever chooses to embody the values presented in super heroic comic books, not only by donning a mask/costume, but also performing good deeds for the communitarian place whom he inhabits,” states their website

Now, you might wonder how to call them for help… If I was you, I would still call 911… ;-)

If you’re interested in real-life superheroes, quite a few are featured in the new book “I, Superhero!!”

Dial 911, but remember that police can be over-taxed, so finding your stolen goods could be left to chance and another day.

An RLSH team might be willing to take your case, trolling pawn shops, asking about in seedier neighborhoods, and keeping ears to the ground in nearby communities.

A case of vigilantism where a computer was stolen that was lo-jacked, had the police arresting a theif when the owner took matters into his own hands, caught the perp on the laptop camera, identifed gps of the unit and forwarded data to authorities.

A good RLSH detective might take unconventional methods to find stuff. Most should be engaged in “Dark Knight”-style dective work in their off-patrol time. Just saying.
