Stone Temple Pilots’ Scott Weiland Rants Onstage & Halts Tour
[lastfm]Stone Temple Pilots[/lastfm] announced that they are postponing 12 reunion tour dates, according to the band’s official website.
This shocking announcement came two days after frontman [lastfm]Scott Weiland[/lastfm] made a slurred, rambling speech onstage at a concert in Houston, Texas, an hour after openers [lastfm]Black Rebel Motorcycle Club [/lastfm] finished their set.
The bandmembers plan to take a “short break” and jump back into their normal touring schedule in October. As of now, the next tour date is set for October 8 in Tampa, Florida, and they haven’t specified why they are taking a break.
According to rttnews.com, when Scott Weiland took the stage in Houston, he said: “The 8th of December will be the time when I stopped doing dope.”
Then he went on to say: “No, no, no, no. I started drinking again. My brother died, I got divorced to my wife, and my whole world basically spun around. So you know what? I’m going to take care of myself because that’s what I need to take care of. Instead of just having a few shows, I want to have a whole hell of a lot of shows.”
