What better way to enjoy the rain in Seattle by throwing a party in a parking space and taking away more of the minimal spots that we have left? I understand it’s for the good of the planet, I’m a huge supporter of it. But couldn’t we have done this on a nice summery day when we don’t have to worry about packing an umbrella, raincoat and boots? Don’t mind me, I’m just being a negative Nancy. Plus, I walk to work, so why am I complaining!?
Looks like mother nature didn’t get the memo or she just doesn’t care… Parking spaces all over downtown will turn into PARK(ing) spaces on Friday. So you might want to leave your car at home because it’s going to be a lot more difficult to find yourself a spot downtown.
Activists all over Seattle will be reclaiming street parking spaces for leisure and recreation during the annual PARK(ing) day, celebrated all over the world.
Numerous downtown parking spaces will be transformed into real-life parks for one day only. Get out there and do your part for the planet. It’ll be fun. Even in the rain.
