[lastfm]Motley Crue [/lastfm]lead singer, [lastfm]Vince Neil[/lastfm], knows a thing or two about Tattoos & Tequila, which is exactly why he titled his first album in 15 years exactly that. The album, which is a compilation of mostly covers will be released tomorrow (June 22)
Real original Vince. You take 15 years to produce an album, and covers is what you come up with? Covers include [lastfm]Elton John[/lastfm]‘s “The Bitch is Back,” [lastfm]Elvis Presley[/lastfm]‘s “Viva Las Vegas” (a tribute to Neil’s current residence), [lastfm]Creedence Clearwater Revival[/lastfm]‘s “Who Will Stop the Rain” and the [lastfm]Hollies[/lastfm]‘ “Long Cool Woman” to deep cuts form [lastfm]Cheap Trick [/lastfm](“He’s a Whore”), [lastfm]Aerosmith[/lastfm] (“Nobody’s Fault”), [lastfm]Scorpions[/lastfm] (“Another Piece of Meat”), [lastfm]ZZ Top[/lastfm]‘s “Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers” and the Sweet (“[lastfm]AC DC[/lastfm]”).
[lastfm]Vince Neil[/lastfm] says that his plans for the album were based around finding songs that related to his life so that his fans could experience what it’s like to be Vince Neil, saying:
I wanted to make a really cool, rock ‘n’ roll party album with songs that mean a lot to me and give people a glimpse into my life.
This summer Vince will take to touring on the Crue Fest after his band [lastfm]Motley Crue[/lastfm] performs alongside [lastfm]Ozzy Osbourne [/lastfm]for six OZZFest dates. The two have not performed together since ’84.
